Proteger e restaurar floresta, água, fauna, flora, solo e fungos.
Construir linhas de base ecológicas, monitoramento e pesquisa aplicada.
Fortalecer agroecologia, cadeias da floresta e negócios regenerativos.
Conectar comunidades, instituições públicas e sociedade civil no cuidado compartilhado.

We are an independent Brazilian nonprofit with a 234-hectare territorial base in the buffer zone of Serra do Conduru State Park — one of the most tree-diverse landscapes on Earth.
Instituto Terra Conduru was established in 2026 in Ilhéus, headquartered in the territory it serves and holding a long-term mandate. The region connects protected areas, watersheds and communities across the Cocoa Coast — an extraordinary biological richness under pressure from land speculation, hunting and illegal logging.
Our work starts from one conviction: conservation is not a fence around nature, but a relationship between forest, water, knowledge, culture and livelihoods.
Instituto Terra Conduru, in Bahia, and Instituto Terra Luminous, in São Paulo, are independent organisations with their own governance, territory and programmes. They share a commitment to protecting and regenerating the Atlantic Forest and are building a cooperation grounded in the exchange of knowledge and experience.
What is learned in one territory can help ask better questions in the other — always respecting local specificities and keeping projects, resources and results clearly attributed to each institute.
Regenerate and protect the Conduru region's exceptional biodiversity while cultivating well-being and sustainable livelihoods with local communities.
Protect and restore forest, water, fauna, flora, soil and fungi.
Build ecological baselines, monitoring and applied research partnerships.
Strengthen agroecology, forest-based value chains and regenerative enterprise.
Connect communities, public institutions and civil society in shared stewardship.
Serra do Conduru State Park is a state conservation unit and an ecological reserve of enormous significance: this stretch of Atlantic Forest holds the second-highest tree diversity on the planet. The exuberant nature and cultural richness of Serra Grande and its region shape everyday life here — and it is that whole fabric we need to protect.
Land speculation is growing and fragmenting the territory, compounded by hunting and illegal logging.
People and socioenvironmental organisations are already active in the region; what is missing is articulation around regenerative culture and a research centre, which does not yet exist here.
Food security with climate and soils favourable to productive agroecology, water sustainability, and energy autonomy.

We are building the base that will make long-term impact possible: institutional structure, knowledge of the territory, care for the land and community listening.
